Abdelatty made the remarks during a phone call that he received on Monday, March 23, 2026, from Greek Foreign Minister Giorgos Gerapetritis, as part of the periodic communication to exchange views on the latest regional developments. He highlighted the serious updates in the region, calling for uniting regional and international efforts to avert sliding into complete chaos. Abdelatty briefed Gerapetritis on Egypt’s contacts and endeavors aimed at de-escalating tensions and prioritizing the diplomatic track and the language of dialogue to contain the situation. Abdelatty underlined the necessity of safeguarding the freedom of international navigation and ensuring it is not disrupted in any way.
