It’s been a nightmare month for Facebook, and this week things got even worse for the social network. The stories also show how Facebook’s Share button makes it too easy to widely spread problematic content. Facebook will still exist under its name as a social network, but the name Meta will overarch all Facebook companies including Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp. If you are ready to delete Facebook, bravo to you, but remember you need to also delete Instagram for this to have an impact on data collection. If you are not ready to delete Facebook yet, at least try and cut down the amount of data available to the social network.
