Vanish Mode, for Facebook's Messenger and Instagram, enables users to send messages that disappear once they are viewed and the viewer leaves the conversation. Vanish Mode only works in one-to-one conversations, not group chats. Facebook-owned WhatsApp rolled out its own disappearing messages feature last week, but those messages disappear after 7 days while Instagram and Messenger’s Vanish Mode messages disappear as soon as you leave the conversation.
