“Not only opposition parties,but also the media is facing torture by the government for publishing the truth. Fakrul further said: “People standing against the government are facing false cases and physical attacks nationwide. Chhatra League and Jubo League have been turned into an aggressive force by the government as well as the law enforcement agencies. As a result, people who are working to establish democracy are now facing torture, including journalists.”The BNP leader condemned Monday's incident and demanded immediate punishment of the perpetrators. He also urged that Shamim Khan of Jugantor, the journalist who went missing during the attack, be returned to his family.
