Famous as a “must-have” for visitors and tourists heading to the Kek Lok Si Temple, the laksa stall at the foothill of the temple will be closing its doors for now. Ayer Itam assemblyman Joseph Ng, who was buying packets of laksa for his staff, was sad and disappointed that the stall will be closed. “It is a pity for the stall to be closed as laksa is one of the heritage foods in Ayer Itam. “Everyone knows about this laksa stall. Meanwhile, in a statement, Ng claimed the stall owner’s son had defaulted on multiple sets of debts, and the creditors went to the stall to collect debts several times.
