A six-week old baby was tragically mauled to death by his family's dog in South Dakota, local law enforcement have announced. The Minnehaha County Sheriff´s Office said in a statement that first responders found the boy with several bite wounds. The baby was flown by helicopter to a hospital for emergency treatment but he later died of his injuries, the sheriff's office said. The Sioux Falls Area Humane Society has taken custody of the dog. ‘Most dogs and cats bite out of fear,’ Sioux Falls Animal Control Lead Officer Milo Hartson said.
