Dr. Fauci addressed the testing of vaccines and if they will be ready by the end of the year or early 2021. President Donald Trump has all but promised a vaccine would be widely released by year’s end, and publicly dismissed Redfield as being “confused” and “out-of-the-loop” about when the vaccine will be released. Fauci said a possible vaccine made by biofirm Novovax is expected to enter Phase 3 trials in October, joining candidates developed by Moderna, Pfizer and AstraZeneca and Johnson & Johnson.
