EDMONTON—A man accused of running a wholesale drug operation who was busted by police with more than half a million doses worth of potentially deadly fentanyl in 2016 pleaded guilty to charges Tuesday that could see him spend more than a decade behind bars. Seven months later, police watched as Parranto met with another suspected drug dealer at the centre of a separate investigation. Because of the quantity and lethal potential of the fentanyl Parranto admitted to intending to sell as part of his wholesale operation, Crown prosecutors argued he should spend 14 years in prison.
