A ferry carrying several vehicles has capsized in Manikganj’s Paturia. The incident took place near Paturia No 5 ferry terminal on Wednesday morning, according to the authorities. The ferry, named 'Shah Amanat', was loaded with 17 freight trucks when it arrived at the Paturia pier from Daulatdia, according to BIWTC official Nazrul Islam Misha. Citing witnesses, Patuary River Police chief Abu Bakar Siddique said, "I've heard that three trucks were swept away. The ferry was also carrying three motorcycles, four or five private cars and a few trucks and covered vans."
