Injured Palestinians were brought to the Nasser hospital in the southern Gaza Strip as fighting between Israel and Hamas intensified on Monday. Since the breakdown of a week-long ceasefire, Israel has launched a ground offensive in the south and has pushed from the east into the heart of Khan Younis, with warplanes attacking an area to the west. The fighting on Monday added to concerns at the UN over the weekend about the possibility of a complete breakdown in public order and mass exodus of Palestinians into Egypt
