It would be stretching poetic licence to describe what's there at present as paradise, any more than you could call 1000 parks modest. The scale is disconcerting even though the net gain of parking spaces would be somewhat smaller, because the ground-level developments would knock out a sizeable existing area of uncovered parking. Let's face it, inevitably this involves displacement and movement, with businesses shifting in, shifting out, showing up or maybe even shutting down. And 1000 spaces would just about qualify.
