TORONTO — Roni Salonen, one of the best linebackers in the German Football League, does not expect a phone call from Canada any time soon. “Not based on those numbers,” he said on Sunday, after the Canadian Football League’s first-ever international player combine wrapped up. But he expected better results and he didn’t exactly crush it during one-on-one pass rushing drills. “With the pass rush thing, I tried to be more Canadian,” he said. “Of course I try my best to make progress so they invite people next year.
