Appzone Group, a fintech software company, is set to unveil its blockchain platform for payment processing. The company said in a statement that the platform, called ‘Zone’, was developed by its subsidiary, Appzone Switch. According to the statement, Zone forms the foundation of its plans to build Africa’s first decentralised payment network, which will allow transactions to be processed directly between banks without the involvement of any intermediary. The company said it would host industry players at an event to host its new innovation. “Because of the impact that the innovation will have on the payment and finance landscape in Africa, we are bringing together industry leaders across the payment, technology, and finance industries to see first-hand how the Zone platform is positioned to power a truly cashless society.”Copyright PUNCH.
