Regional News of Sunday, 8 February 2026Source: www.ghanaweb.comThe Pre-School department of the Nintin R/C Primary School in the Mampong Municipality of Ashanti, has been closed temporarily following a fire outbreak that has completely razed down the facility’s feeding structure. The decision to close down the Pre-School department was part of precautionary measures taken by the authorities of the school to protect the children against accidents at the scene. The affected building is the canteen and store for the preparation of meals to feed pupils of the Nintin R/C Primary under the School Feeding Programme. Nicholas Osei Taylor, the Schools Improvement and Support Officer (SISO), justified the temporary closure of the Pre- School Department and how long the children would have to stay at home. Meanwhile, as interim measure to feed the pupils, the Municipal NADMO pledged to provide a quantity of maize and rice while they make formal report to the Municipal Assembly for extensive support.
