BigtockThirteen firefighting units rushed to the spotA fire broke out at a slum in Dhaka’s Kalyanpur area at around 10:05pm on Friday. Upon receiving information, 13 units of firefighters rushed to the spot to control the raging inferno, said Duty Officer Mahfuz Riben of the Fire Service and Civil Defence headquarters. Fire Service Assistant Director Md Salahuddin told journalists that they have brought the blaze under control around 11:10pm. The blaze might have ignited from a gas cylinder blast, he said. Meanwhile, two victims--Anwar and Aktar-- have been admitted to Sheikh Hasina National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery in critical condition, reports our DMCH correspondent.
