LOS ANGELES—Firefighters gained some ground on two massive wildfires in Northern California overnight Monday into Tuesday after hot and windy conditions abated. A 352,000-acre fire racing through Wine Country in and around Napa County north of the San Francisco Bay Area was 27% contained Tuesday, according to fire officials, while a second blaze that has burned more than 363,000 acres south of the Santa Cruz Mountains was roughly 17% contained.
