Firefighters battle 150-acre fire near Paso Robles


Smoke was reported shortly after 4 p.m. near Shedd Canyon, about 15 miles east of Paso Robles, according to California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection's office in San Luis Obispo. A fast-moving brush fire scorched 150 acres in the Central Coast on Tuesday evening as firefighters worked to battle the blaze. The Fire Department deployed four air tankers and a helicopter along with seven fire engines to combat the blaze. Firefighters also responded to a smaller blaze that burned a patch of vegetation measuring about 100 square feet, according to the local NBC station, KSBY-TV Channel 6.
