MANILA, Philippines — Three fires broke out at a garments factory in Parañaque City and residential areas in the cities of Makati and Pasay since Friday night. The first fire razed a 1,600-square-meter industrial building – later identified as the factory of Metro Index Garments Inc. – along Thomas street in Multinational Village in Barangay Moonwalk, Parañaque City. The blaze started in the factory’s production area just before 8 p.m. Friday, according to a report from city fire marshal Superintendent Robert Pacis. The blaze reached third alarm and lasted three hours since firefighters had difficulty getting to the scene due to the area’s narrow roads. The blaze, which reached fourth alarm, started at past 2 p.m, and was declared under control an hour later.
