According to documents seen by NTV, General Cargo Services Limited in Mombasa, together with Mahindra and Mahindra South Africa Limited, imported and cleared over 100,000 bags of bad maize that was seized in Changamwe, Mombasa on Thursday. A third firm, Consolbase, is believed to have stored the maize in 202 containers, even after the Kenya Bureau of Standards declared the maize unfit for human consumption and ordered it destroyed.
