Helius Therapeutics has become the first New Zealand company to gain approval from Medsafe to begin manufacturing medicinal cannabis. Chief quality officer Bruce Wallace said there would be ongoing auditing, and while it had the licence to manufacture, it still needed to meet minimum quality standards, through batch testing, by the Medicinal Cannabis Agency.
