The storm will stretch from central Massachusetts to northern Maine where as much as two foot of snow is expected. on SaturdayResidents of New England braced themselves as up to 18 inches of snow was predicted. Central Massachusetts was also placed under an advisory with prediction of eight inches of snow expected to fall by evening. At 1pm Saturday, NWS Boston advised residents to avoid necessary travel as the snowfall began at rates of one-inch an hour from eastern Connecticut to central Massachusetts. Areas south of New England, including the New York region, are expected to see heavy rain and strong winds.
