“Registered fishermen can access aid when needed. Among the students recognised was Nur Diana Zahirah Yusni, 18, from Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Sanglang, who scored 9As. At the event, Nur Diana Zahirah received RM1,000 in aid from LKIM, while Nekmat and the Perlis State Fishermen’s Association (Pelaris) each contributed RM500. Muhammad Faiz highlighted that about 80,000 fishermen are currently registered with the associations nationwide, but he believes many more remain unregistered. Muhammad Faiz also assured that LKIM would support Nur Diana Zahirah in pursuing further studies if needed, including covering tuition fees at any higher education institution.
