Liverpool are reportedly interested in naming Max Eberl as their sporting director, and he could tap into his knowledge in the Bundesliga upon his arrival at Anfield. The 50-year-old left his position as director of sport at RB Leipzig in September and is on the search for a new position, and a move away from Germany should not be ruled out. According to BILD, Liverpool have shortlisted Eberl as a target, despite only appointing Jorg Schmadtke this summer. The Reds are keen to bring in a long-term director who can spearhead their recruitment over the coming years, though they may need to act quickly if they are to appoint Eberl given that he is also in talks with Bayern Munich. The former Borussia Monchengladbach director of sport has only held two positions since hanging up his boots in 2005, both in the Bundesliga.
