Five aid workers kidnapped in Nigeria in December 2019 rescued from ISIS West Africa


Five aid workers kidnapped in North-East Nigeria on December 22, 2019, were rescued on Wednesday’s evening. The aid workers were rescued by operatives from the Department of State Security Service (DSS), and other security agencies. Newswire, PRNigeria, quoted the spokesperson of DSS, Dr. Peter Afunaya, as confirming the development, adding that the aid workers were in good health and were being debriefed. PRNigeria reported that the rescue operation involved the DSS operatives in collaboration with other critical stakeholders in military and intelligence services. Those rescued are: Jennifer Samuel UKUMBONG (Alliance for International Medical Action, (ALIMA); Asabe Cletus MUSA, Alliance for International Medical Action (ALIMA); Adamu Auwal OZESHI; Arthur Ibojekwe CHIMA ( Solidarity International) and George Danbaba MICHEAL (International Organisation for Migration, IOM).
