ALOR GAJAH: Police have obtained a four-day remand order against a 19-year-old girl, believed to be the mother of a baby whose skeletal remains were found buried in a house compound in Kelemak here. The teenager was remanded together with her boyfriend and her mother, elder sister and younger brother, aged between 16 and 40. Alor Gajah Sessions Court Judge Kamarul Aris Kamalludin granted the remand on Thursday (March 26) to facilitate investigations into the discovery of the remains, believed to have been buried about four months ago. All the suspects are being investigated under Section 318 of the Penal Code for concealing a birth. The incident has shocked residents in the area, particularly as it unfolded while the community was still in the midst of Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebrations.
