JobKeeper payments have provided a much-needed lifeline for millions of Australians who otherwise would have been made redundant during the coronavirus pandemic. From the end of September, those on JobKeeper will also be able to claim the $250 JobSeeker payment meaning their total benefits will amount to $1,450. ACCI's deputy director of workplace relations, Tamsin Lawrence, told The Australian, the JobKeeper payment is still mandatory for employers to pass on. 'It's important to remember that regardless of whether an employee is receiving JobKeeper, they are still required to satisfy their obligations under their employment contract,' she said. Income subsidies are available across a range of areas including rental support, parenting payments, disability support and partner allowances.
