Five thugs were shot dead at Majengo trading center, Vihiga county, after a robbery in Kisumu town on Sunday. They had stolen electronics and household items at Patel Flat, an estate near Tuskys supermarket Kisumu. Western region police commandant Jasper Ombati said the thugs had also broken into Ali Mohammed’s house at Tom Mboya estate in Kibuye while the family attended a wedding. One of the slain suspects is said to have participated in a robbery incident in Majengo several days ago. The criminals were gunned down by Flying Squad officers who had trailed them following an attack on two businessmen at about 3pm.
