Fivetran Is The Cloud’s Newest Unicorn With $1.2 Billion Valuation


Fivetran CEO George Fraser and COO Taylor Brown FivetranA startup that automates the mind-numbing process of moving a company’s data to the cloud is the latest software startup to become a Covid-19 pandemic unicorn. Fivetran announced on Tuesday that it raised $100 million in a Series C funding round from Silicon Valley investment heavyweights Andreessen Horowitz and General Catalyst and previous investors CEAS Investments and Matrix Partners. The funding values Fivetran at $1.2 billion. Fivetran onboarded its first customer in 2015, and now has 1,100 — including ClassPass, Databricks and DocuSign — up 75% for the fiscal year ending in May. The latest funding round brings Fivetran’s total raised capital to $163 million, and follows a $44 million series B funding round in September, also led by Andreessen Horowitz.
