The sewer line, which has been broken for close to a month, has led to worried tenants vacating their houses. Community policing member Hodhan Arte said efforts to have the sewer line fixed by the Garissa Water and Sewerage Company has been unsuccessful. Two months ago, the sewer line at the Administration Police line in the town, broke down. In April, Garissa residents expressed concerns after a cholera outbreak in the neighbouring Tana River county. Residents of Bulla Sheikh, Garissa county, are living in fear of a possible waterborne disease outbreak after raw sewage spilled into their homes.
