Flackwell Heath’s Matthew Ayres ‘drained’ but doing okay following collapse

Flackwell Heath manager Chris Ayres says his midfielder and son Matthew is ‘drained’ but doing okay after he collapsed on the pitch during the Heathens’ FA Cup clash with Farnham Town. On Sunday morning, Flackwell Heath reported that Matthew returned home late Saturday night and has been resting up after all the necessary tests were undertaken. His heartrate was through the roof, and he was unresponsive for a short while too which was scary for everyone. Some of the players got round Matthew too and shielded him from the sun which was great. “If it’s one of your players going down, it’s awful, when it’s your son, it’s horrific.
