And, not every state or region wants thousands of people from high-risk Coronavirus areas flooding their territory. All of this is changing Airbnb and VRBO marketing as owners focus on selling rural hideaways as retreats from the city. The surge in long bookings for rural areas has pushed up the global average, which also includes urban listings, to eight nights per reservation.
