Flooding in Eastern Oregon Strands Residents

Dozens of people have been rescued and one woman is missing after severe flooding in eastern Oregon stranded residents and shut down closed highways. Prolonged rains coupled with a recent snowstorm led to rapidly rising waters late last week around Pendleton, Ore., about 200 miles east of Portland. Evacuation orders were issued Friday morning, and authorities warned that “it could be weeks” before residents could get out.
