Florida Governor Ron DeSantis made his first visit to Iowa on Friday, intensifying speculation over his potential presidential bid in 2024. He greeted fans at a casino in Davenport in the morning and partnered with Republican Governor Kim Reynolds of Iowa to promote his latest book, “The Courage to be Free,” in Des Moines later in the day. A new Des Moines Register/Mediacom survey showed DeSantis as the presidential candidate posing the biggest threat to Trump in Iowa. Haley and Trump, who has already announced his presidential bid, are also scheduled to visit the state. However, DeSantis is expected to wait for the conclusion of Florida’s current legislative session before formally launching his presidential campaign.
