A Florida man has been charged with abuse after he allegedly beat an 8-year-old boy and threatened to feed the child to alligators in a nearby pond. But he was just teasing the boy, Dunn told authorities. Dunn was arrested Wednesday on a child abuse charge and is being held on a $7,500 bond, according to online booking records. According to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, the state averages about five unprovoked alligator bites per year. Since 1948, 383 people in Florida have suffered alligator bites, according to Florida FWC records.
