Flyers and flights remain a trickle


The Hong Kong International Airport handled 96,000 passengers and 9,870 flights last month, a year-on-year drop of 98.6 percent and 73.2 percent, respectively. Cargo handled to and from Southeast Asia, mainland China and Europe experienced the most significant declines. Over the first seven months, the airport handled 8.4 million passengers and 104,000 flights, or year-on-year drops of 81.2 percent and 58.4 percent, respectively. Cargo handled fell by 9.7 percent to 2.4 million tons. On a 12-month rolling basis, passengers and flights fell by 53.3 percent and 36.2 percent to 35 million and 273,940, respectively.
