Image: Supplied via Newsline / CCCThe Christchurch Art Gallery will mark 40 years since Flying Nun Records was founded in Christchurch with an exclusive exhibition this month. Flying Nun Records was started in Christchurch in 1981 and to celebrate the anniversary the gallery is hosting The Hellzapoppin’! The Art of Flying Nun exhibition, which will bring together original artwork and design, film, record covers, posters and photography from some of New Zealand’s most well-known bands. "This exhibition is colourful and a lot of fun - and closer to the pop art end of the scale," said Christchurch Art Gallery Te Puna o Waiwhetū director Blair Jackson. The Art of Flying Nun at Christchurch Art Gallery Te Puna o Waiwhetū runs from August 21 to November 28.
