President Donald Trump’s former national security adviser told an ex-business partner that economic sanctions against Russia would be “ripped up,” according to a whistleblower. The new allegations against Michael Flynn ― who recently pleaded guilty to lying to the FBI about his contacts with Russia’s U.S. ambassador ― were made public on Wednesday in a letter from Elijah Cummings (D-Md. Cummings said the whistleblower contacted him in June of this year with the new information. The whistleblower told Cummings he met with Alex Copson, managing partner of ACU Strategic Partners and a business partner of Flynn’s, on the day of Trump’s inauguration. Copson went on to say that “Mike has been putting everything in place,” according to the letter.
