The Africa Climate Summit is well underway in Nairobi. Climate change is real. We just need to look at forest fires around the world and unpredictable rainfall in Africa. This is not going to happen quickly and it is not clear if it would make enough difference in timeTherefore, as President Ruto suggested in his opening speech, African countries have to take affordable measures themselves to manage climate change, even if richer countries contribute to the costs. Combined with strict protection of gazetted forests, this will ensure that Kenya's water towers continue to hold water.
