In the 69th minute, Temi Eweka met Lench’s free-kick and saw his head glance off the top of the crossbar. However, Chelmsford also had a head in hands moment as Caruthers’ close-range curler was clawed away by Rohan Luthra in the 52nd minute. The draw leaves Slough in the bottom four, two points from safety, ahead of Tuesday’s trip to St Albans City. The visitors – who are funded by the rapper Stormzy and Wilfried Zaha – levelled matters before half-time from the penalty spot.
