Ford is a bit late moving into the small SUV market led by the Kia Soul, Buick Encore and Jeep Renegade but the EcoSport is now on sale in the U.S. That was aimed mainly at the quality of the interior and Ford has certainly solved that problem. There’s no reason to think the interior quality will any different from the Romanian ones, but the engine packages on offer are. “We’ve enhanced the quality, technology and versatility of the new Ford EcoSport to deliver more of the confidence and control that compact SUV customers want,” said Ford Europe company official Gary Boes. According to IHS Markit analyst Tim Urquhart, Ford EcoSport sales will peak at just under 60,000 next year, which would put it behind the Encore, Renegade and Soul.
