KUALA LUMPUR: Former Election Commission (EC) chairman Tan Sri Mohd Hashim Abdullah passed away at 2pm on Friday (April 10) at the National Heart Institute (IJN) due to health complications at the age of 71. His third daughter Aleena Fatin said her father reportedly suffered a heart attack on Tuesday before being rushed to Putrajaya Hospital. "On Tuesday, my father suffered a heart attack and was taken to the emergency ward of Putrajaya Hospital. "Today at 10am, the doctor instructed us to refer him to IJN but on the way he suffered another heart attack," she said when contacted. "Condolences to all family members of Tan Sri Mohd Hashim Abdullah, former EC chairman.
