Former Galloway Boys gang kingpin to appeal murder, attempted murder convictions

The former kingpin of notorious Toronto gang Galloway Boys, found guilty of murder and multiple counts of attempted murder in connection with a string of shootings in 2004, is appealing his convictions, CBC News has learned. Tyshan Riley was convicted of murder, attempted murder and murder to benefit a criminal organization in 2009 for the shootings of Brenton Charlton and Leonard Bell. Riley mistakenly believed that Charlton belonged to a rival gang in the March 2004 shooting. Riley is appealing all three of his convictions in connection with the March 2004 death of Charlton and the shooting of Bell. Riley is also appealing the two counts of attempted murder in the shootings of two teenagers in April 2004.
