Former Ontario cabinet minister Glen Murray resigns from Alberta think-tank he left politics for

EDMONTON — Glen Murray, the former Ontario cabinet minister who left government to pursue a job he “dreamed of having” with the Pembina Institute, has resigned as its executive director. “While I’m looking forward to a new challenge, the Pembina Institute is a very hard place and team to leave,” said Murray in a statement. A former Winnipeg city councillor and mayor, Murray jumped into provincial politics, winning an Ontario byelection in February 2010. He left for the Pembina Institute in advance of the election that saw Doug Ford’s Progressive Conservatives sweep to victory in Ontario last May. Staff with Pembina, reached by the Post on Monday, referred inquiries to the online statement.
