New Delhi: Renowned cardiac surgeon Dr Ashutosh Raghuvanshi has been appointed as the chief executive officer (CEO) of Fortis Healthcare Ltd, replacing Bhavdeep Singh, who resigned from the troubled hospital chain in November, citing personal reasons. On 3 February, Raghuvanshi resigned as vice-chairman, MD and group CEO of Narayana Hrudayalaya (NH) Ltd after 18 years with the organisation. Bhavdeep Singh’s resignation in November cleared the way for IHH to bring in its own candidate to run Fortis Healthcare. Malaysia’s IHH healthcare Bhd took control of Fortis healthcare Ltd in November last year and appointed representatives from IHH on its board. In July last year, the Fortis board unanimously accepted the binding offer from IHH Healthcare, ending a protracted bidding war for the hospital operator.
