Epic Games, the maker of Fortnite and the Unreal Engine, had an incredibly successful 2018, largely driven by the popularity of the studio's free-to-play game. According to unnamed sources, TechCrunch reports that the success of the game on all its platforms---PS4, Xbox One, PC, Nintendo Switch, Android and iOS---has pushed Epic Games' profits to $3 billion for 2018. Epic Games is valued at nearly $15 billion, though that might be too low a number if the company is really pulling down such enormous profits. $3 billion is a lot of money, but it's money that Epic has earned through ingenuity, open communication and hard work. All told, an amazing year for Epic Games and Fortnite.
