The Infinity Blade was a fun, absurd item, but the real problem was that there was no way to play the game without it. The Infinity Blade seems to have been the first in a series of mythic items that Epic was considering adding to the game, a strategy that it now appears to be altering somewhat. Regardless, the Infinity Blade was an experiment that has no come to an end.
