Of the 23 ZIKV cases reported so far, three have been in pregnant women. On Tuesday, a 35-year-old woman at Poonthura, a 41-year-old pregnant woman at Sasthamangalam, a 38-year-old doctor at a private hospital and a 16-year-old girl at Karikkakam were diagnosed with the infection. We have no way of knowing the extent of the geographic spread of the disease unless new cases come up.
