A fox that bit at least nine people near the U.S. Capitol, including a California congressman, was found to be rabid. Rep. Ami Bera, 57, from the Sacramento area, began receiving rabies treatment after he was nipped on the leg Monday. The fox’s teeth pierced Bera’s pants leg and scraped his ankle, but the congressman said there was no blood. He said he went to Walter Reed Hospital on Monday night and began a five-course rabies shot regimen. Bera, a fifth-term congressman, is a physician.
