Chesterfield have signed experienced forward Freddie Ladapo on a deal to the end of the season. The 32-year-old was a free agent after his contract with League One club Huddersfield Town was ended by mutual agreement in October. Ladapo made his English Football League debut for Colchester United in 2012 and his previous clubs also include Crystal Palace, Plymouth Argyle, Rotherham United and Ipswich Town. The club have also completed the signing of 23-year-old defender Malik Owolabi-Belewu from Canadian club Forge FC, a deal which was initially agreed last summer. He joined Forge in 2022 following a spell with Italian club SPAL.
