Environment Canada is warning freezing rain is on the way Monday, which could make roads icy and slippery this evening. The precipitation will begin late this morning, likely falling as light snow or ice pellets, said the weather authority in a warning early Monday morning. That could bring "a few hours of freezing rain" until temperatures warm, near midnight, and the precipitation liquifies to rain. "At this point, freezing rain amounts are expected to be fairly light. However, untreated surfaces may become icy and slippery," said Environment Canada early Monday morning, and advised people take "extra care when walking or driving in affected areas."
